Join us on April 18 for an incredible night of poetry! This time, Artist Take and Dismoc Le Ma are helping facilitate a special poetry night as part of Forging Black Joy—a new platform initiative dedicated to reestablishing North County St. Louis as a thriving arts district and creating opportunities for local emerging artists. The initiative was founded by Amina Taylor and Naysa Adams.
The evening will be hosted by Maya McGrocery, an LMNT Poetry alumni who was also selected in October 2025 for Artist Take: The Spotlight Verse.
Founder Amina Taylor is also an Artist Take alumni, previously participating as a vendor in The Funk Before Christmas Art Show and The Popcorn Easel Art Show in August 2025.
Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older.

Must perform your poem live in front of an audience.

Must submit an original poem (no plagiarism).

Must agree to have their performance recorded by Artist Take and Forging Black Joy for marketing purposes (videos will be sent to the artists).

Must be available to perform on the event day: April 18th

Must be able to travel to event location 10460 WEST FLORISSANT AVE, DELLWOOD, MO

Must be able to submit a hi resolution photo of self if selected as a feature (pictures will be used for the flyer.)
